Maybe it's true in some cases. But by experience, I can tell you that a toddler is capable of getting their hands on anything and destroying their surroundings in the blink of an eye. Perhaps this should be my chance to shamelessly plug the shout out for baby proofing tips over in the SantaRosaMom.com forums.... With a 5 year old and 2 1/2 year old boys in the house, we can relate. Brand new couch. 2 year old with steak knife (from where?!). Enough said. I also have a new found hatred for crayons too...after having them go through the washer/dryer undiscovered, despite my best prevention efforts. Uuugh. So frustrating, but I know this stuff will be fodder for our family lore in years to come as well. So far, we're still laughing. :) Totally love that site!
